Wychwood might just be the world’s first “blackgrass” band. The duo of Chrissy Steinbock and Tim Kitz play old murder-ballads and generally dark or weird traditional folk songs, with some bright and sentimental spots thrown in for contrast.

At their concerts you can expect lovely, gritty harmonies backed by banjos, guitars, accordion, and a smorgasbord of other acoustic instruments (harmonica, saw, tin whistle, flute, carboardbox kickdrum, footjingle, and probably some other instruments they either can’t remember or have picked up since writing this).
